The Spy Next Door

He’s back! Jackie Chan stars in another comedy action film called “The Spy Next Door”; directed by Brian Levant. The film also stars Amber Valleta, Billy Ray Cyrus, George Lopez, Magnus Scheving, Katherine Boecher, Will Shadely and Madeline Carroll.

The movie is about Bob Ho (Jackie Chan), an undercover spy who is asked to babysit his neighbor’s children. While babysitting the kids one of them accidentally downloads a secret code onto his computer. Bob soon discovers secret agents are after it; He has no choice but to fight. Bob has no other choice but to ask the kids to help him in the fight against them. Bob ends up taking the kids on an adventure fighting off villains escaping traps and outsmarting agents while keeping the kids safe from danger.

I have to admit I was really excited when I found out that Jackie Chan was starring in another action-packed movie but quickly changed my mind after seeing how family friendly it is. Not that I have anything against family friendly movies I just thought it would have a little more action. I’m sure most of us enjoy a little violence here and there. Am I right? Never the less this movie seems it will bring in good ratings coming from parents with children or even young adults and teens with younger siblings. We’ll just have to wait and see when it comes out. The movie hits theatres on January 15, 2010.

I recently saw “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I went in expecting to see a cute kid’s movie with cool animation. What I ended up seeing was a film that managed to mix a touching message with comedy and adventure.

The film tells the story of Flint Lockwood, an aspiring inventor since childhood who has managed to create a machine that turns water into food. Seems awesome, right? Of course something goes wrong and Flint must save his beloved town. Along the way he meets wannabe reporter Sam Sparks, whom he quickly develops affection for.
